Erin Vivero, flute, and Jeanette Gross, piano, will be performing at the First Congregational Church of Wallingford to raise money for the church’s music program. First Congregational has many musical outreach programs in the local community and they need outside support to continue these projects. The hour-long program is free and open to the public with a suggested donation at the door. Come and enjoy an evening of sacred and cinematically colorful music that will delight all ages. Sorry, Mozart, you aren’t invited to this one!

Community Music School presents a Summer Flute Ensemble for advanced high school students and adults directed by Helene Rosenblatt. A fun and challenging weekly ensemble experience that will develop your sight-reading and listening skills, improve your intonation, and make you a better all-around musician. Explore a variety of music from many periods and genres with an emphasis on developing a solid 'ensemble'. Repertoire includes many styles of music. Arrangements may include Pop, Contemporary, Classical, Romantic, Jazz, New Age, Movie, Theater music as well as pieces composed for Flute Choir. Works from as early as 1400 up to 2019. Alto and bass flutes are welcome.
Tuition: $175 for 9 weeks

Enjoy the friendship of other flutists while rehearsing in a flute choir, attend master classes and collaborate with others in trios and quartets of chamber music.
The Hartford Flute Ensemble is a fun week-long program designed to teach intermediate to advanced players the vast flute repertoire for this wonderful instrument. This camp is designed for all flute lovers: high school, college students, adults and music teachers.
Participants in this program will learn:

Flute Camp 2019 is led by flute instructors Minta White and Gonzalo Cortes. Daily schedule will include small ensembles, large ensemble, private lessons, masterclasses and flute topics of the day. The last day of the camp will include an evening recital for all participants. Each participant will receive a certificate at the end of the camp.

Early Registration Deadline: June 15th
Tuition: $300 on or before June 15th. After June 15th, there will be an additional late registration fee of $25. This additional late registration fee will be waived for all students signed up for lessons at Music and Arts by the first day of Flute Camp 2019.

Dr. Barbara Hopkins leads a week of fun and intensive training, providing flute students in grades 6-8 with the opportunity to gain performance experience, study with a professional flutist, and learn alongside their peers in a supportive and encouraging environment. Each day includes a group stretch, warm-up, flute ensemble rehearsal and flute repertoire study, including clinics on topics important to you, from mastering those tricky passages to how to present yourself at an audition. This week will bring your musicianship to the next level.

Flute-specific programming runs for 3 hours each morning, followed by an afternoon of Wind Ensemble and Chorus. The flute section fills up fast - last year there was a waiting list, so don’t wait to register!
